Frogs for Dinner

Dave Hunter, Threatened Species Officer with the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage is guest speaker at The Riverina Highlands Landcare Network annual Winter Warmer Dinner.

Since the mid 90s Dave has undertaken research and monitoring of two unique and endangered frog species in the Riverina Highlands – the Northern Corroboree Frog and the Boorolong Frog ( pictured in the flyer). His research indicates that it is possible to combine the protection and restoration of our river environments with agricultural practices.

Dave’s presentation will provide an update on the  Corroboree Frog’s recovery program and how the extreme droughts and floods over the past decade have greatly informed his understanding of the Boorolong Frog and the management of its key habitat requirements.

The Riverina Highlands Landcare Network invites you to our Winter Warmer Dinner to hear Dave explain why the Corroboree and Boorolong frogs have told us about environmental management in the Riverina Highlands.
